Administrative Assistant
who shares these values. This role begins as a
part-time position
and offers the opportunity to grow into a
full-time Intake Coordinator and/or Scheduler
for both hospice and home health services as our programs expand. Key Responsibilities: Provide general administrative support to the hospice and home health office. Answer and direct incoming calls, take accurate messages, and route inquiries appropriately. Assist with the intake process, including gathering referral information, verifying insurance, and entering patient data into the EMR system. Support the scheduling of patient visits for hospice and home health services, ensuring efficiency and accuracy. Maintain and update electronic and paper records in compliance with HIPAA and agency standards. Communicate with clinical staff, patients, families, and referral sources in a professional and compassionate manner. Assist with preparing reports, correspondence, and documentation as needed. Learn and follow agency policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements for both hospice and home health operations. Perform other related duties as assigned to support the smooth operation of the office. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; additional administrative or healthcare-related coursework preferred. Minimum of 1 year of administrative experience; prior healthcare or medical office experience is a plus. Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn EMR systems. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Compassionate and professional demeanor when interacting with patients, families, and staff. Willingness to learn and adapt to new responsibilities as the role evolves.
