Inspection Specialist
In this position, you will be inspecting assembled parts for imperfections and nonconformities. You will review all parts that you are assigned against the blueprints and process sheets to verify that the parts meet customer standard. You will be testing all electrical components and measuring them with an ohm meter, ruler and micrometer. Any non-conforming parts you will need to either send back to the assembly team for repair or out for scrap if it is non-repairable. Basic Qualifications
High School Education or GED equivalency. 3 years' inspection experience in a Manufacturing environment Ability and willingness to use hand tools and measuring devices as required within department. Intermediate understanding of basic computer applications, such as Oracle and Microsoft applications. Ability and willingness to obtain specific knowledge in one or more of the following disciplines (Electrical Inspection, Mechanical Inspection) Intermediate understanding of blueprint and process sheet interpretation, including functional knowledge of geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T); Ability and willingness to pass visual acuity exam upon offer. Ability and willingness to obtain Braze, Weld and Solder inspection certification as required. Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Utilize manual or automated measurement and testing equipment to assure quality of products. Identify and document non-conforming parts, while using Oracle to maintain inspection records. Inspect all raw materials and purchased parts to determine conformance to design requirement. Use statistical process control and statistical quality control techniques as required. Perform job responsibilities according to internal process specifications and third-party requirements. Assist support functions in root cause analysis. Communicate with team to ensure all team members are aware of product deficiencies, new processes, or issues. Work with limited supervision. Perform manual set up, test, and troubleshooting which includes performance testing and trim grind. Complete understanding of operation of all inspection equipment within the department. Keep all shift operators informed on special problems involving operation or set up Cross-train other employees as needed based upon knowledge and experience. Compliantly complete all written and/or electronic labor tracking documentation. Report problems to appropriate resource and/or Coach. Proactively work to improve efficiency and quality of products. Participate in and support team initiatives. Utilize proper PPE, safety equipment, and follow safety procedures per position requirements. Exemplifies and coaches others on the GE Leadership behaviors. Perform duties on more complex, proto-type or first-time builds. Perform final inspection responsibilities as required by area. Perform and document First Article inspections as required. Perform complex testing as required. Other duties as required. Desired Qualifications:
3-5 years Inspection experience in a manufacturing environment Experience in Customer requirements. Audit experience. Knowledge of Quality System requirements (AS9100) Preferred assembly, solder, or electronics manufacturing experience. Prior experience in a self-directed team environment. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment. Intermediate understanding of special processes such as brazing, soldering, welding, coating, etc. as required within the department.
