Supplier Engineer

The supplier engineer (SE) is responsible for providing technical leadership to the assigned suppliers and managing overall supplier quality management systems, ensuring process controls are established and adhered to throughout the supplier's entire manufacturing process and supply chain. The SE engages early in product development, providing drawing/design input and conducting first builds with the supplier to establish a robust, repeatable quality product. The SE supports customer and factory escalations by driving supplier corrective actions. Key responsibilities include: Drive systemic supplier performance improvement plans and projects for reducing quality defects and improve supplier's capability. Drive SPC compliance and improvement projects to reduce out of control conditions. Conduct process and part audits at supplier sites
part to print verification, quality management system review, root cause analysis, and corrective actions. Engage in New Product design reviews to improve producibility and manufacturability in the product development phase. Participate in and drive technical sourcing decisions based on supplier capability and product attributes. Train and develop suppliers to comply with Applied's quality methodologies
8D, responding to non-conformances, change management controls, failure analysis. Proliferate key learnings and BKMs into the supply base. Prepare and present executive summaries on supplier capabilities, customer and factory escalations. The preferred candidate will have extensive experience in the following: Direct manufacturing and industry experience in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering and contract manufacturing for PCB and box builds. Design for manufacturability knowledge. Well versed in quality management systems and methodologies. Value Stream Mapping experience. Creative problem-solving skills. Manufacturing process development and qualification. Program/project management. Sound knowledge of GD&T and Engineering Drawing Interpretation. 3D modeling knowledge. PFMEA knowledge and experience. Knowledge of metrology and measuring equipment. Understanding the broad scope of a factory's methods and processes: material control, inspection/QC, cleaning, 5S, tool crib, tool life management, detailing, packaging. Excellent written and verbal communication. Strong team player.
