Instructional Paraprofessional
Position Title: Instructional Paraprofessional (Teacher Assistant and/or Computer Lab Facilitator) Employment Type: Full-time, Nine-Month Contract Location: Greene County Schools Position Overview The Instructional Paraprofessional will serve a dual role as a Teacher Assistant and Computer Lab Facilitator. This position supports teachers in the classroom and assists students with computer-based learning and activities. The paraprofessional will work under the direct supervision of certified teachers and school administrators to enhance student learning experiences and ensure the smooth operation of the computer lab. Key Responsibilities Teacher Assistant Duties: Assist classroom teachers with instructional tasks and classroom management. Provide one-on-one or small group support to students to reinforce learning concepts. Prepare and organize instructional materials and resources as directed by the teacher. Support students with special needs, adapting instructional materials to meet individual learning requirements. Supervise students in various school settings, including the classroom, playground, and during transitional times. Computer Lab Facilitator Duties: Oversee the daily operations of the computer lab, ensuring all equipment is functioning properly. Assist students in using educational software and online resources to support their learning. Provide basic technical support and troubleshooting for students and staff. Maintain an orderly and productive computer lab environment. Develop and implement computer lab schedules in coordination with classroom teachers. Monitor student activity in the computer lab to ensure proper use of technology and adherence to school policies. Qualifications Education: Associate's degree or completion of at least two years of college coursework (equivalent to 60 semester hours). Experience: Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is preferred. Certifications: Must meet the paraprofessional certification requirements as mandated by state or local regulations. Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in using computers and educational technology. Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks. Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude toward working with students. Work Environment The position is based in a school setting, involving interaction with students, teachers, and school staff. The instructional paraprofessional will spend time in both the classroom and the computer lab and may occasionally assist in other areas of the school as needed.
