Children's Wisconsin has an opportunity for a casual Nurse Clinician on our Central Access Team. Work Schedule: Casual Location: Children's Wisconsin Main Campus What You Will Do: The Nurse Clinician -Central Access functions with demonstrated expertise in providing nursing care and/or consultation to pediatric patients hospital-wide requiring central venous access. Essential functions include but are not limited to utilizing the nursing process to assess responses to central vascular access interventions or treatment modalities. The Nurse Clinician is a recognized resource in providing guidance in case management, teaching and discharge planning of children with central venous lines. The Nurse Clinician designs and provides ongoing staff education related to line care and maintenance. The Nurse Clinician also places PICC lines under the medical direction of the Interventional Radiologists. The Nurse Clinician is an active participant in central line infection surveillance and data collection. What You Will Need: BSN preferred. Must possess current state license as a registered nurse. Current CPR certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross is required. Three years pediatric or intravenous nursing experience, in order to develop a comprehensive understanding of patient care within a defined patient population, and gain knowledge and skill in pediatric nursing procedures and standards.
