Works with plastic, metal, plaster, and leather to fabricate orthotic devices according to measurements and prescription requirements; repairs/modifies devices under supervision of a certified orthotist. Job Duties
Fabricates orthotic devices by bending, forming, and shaping materials to prescribed specifications. Interprets specifications to determine the type of device to be fabricated and the materials and tools that will be required. Repairs, rebuilds, and modifies orthotic appliances. Interacts with patients under the supervision of a certified orthotist to make adjustments to promote proper fit, function, and comfort of devices. Maintains fabrication supplies inventory as delegated by management. Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of workspaces and common areas. Participates in preventative maintenance of equipment as assigned. Adheres to policies and procedures regarding human resources, physical environment, business and financial practices, reimbursement requirements, and organizational management. Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED Preferred Qualifications
Associate's Degree Orthotic or Prosthetic Technician course completed at an accredited school. Physical Demands
Lift over 50 lbs. Push/pull up to 140 lbs. Carry 80 lbs. short distances. Frequent standing/walking, squatting, kneeling, crawling, climbing and reaching overhead.
