Second Shift Material Handler

POSITION SUMMARY: The Material Handler physically moves components between machining locations using a pallet jack or forklift. Transactionally processes work in the computer and puts away finished components. Picks components on a bill of materials to prepare for assembly. Empties chip hoppers using a forklift to ensure no production stoppages. And completes other activities that support production as assigned. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Daily tasks assigned need to be achieved by working with Supervisors, employees, and other leaders Ensure all hoppers are empty and ready for first shift production Move all WIP/Finished Goods to the next staging area Count, log in the computer, and put away any finished goods that have arrived in assembly Pick, issue components in the computer, and place assembly work in the queue to prepare for first shift production Communicate essential information to the Supervisor daily Follow required procedures for execution of tasks to comply with site Quality system Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition REQUIRED SKILLS: Ability to obtain forklift certification and drive powered lift trucks Excellent communication skills Motivated self-starter that likes problem solving Good computer skills Desire to work in a fast-paced environment Team player willing to execute different tasks as needed Ability to handle the demands of multiple priorities. Ability to read and understand English. Flexibility and reliability, including good focus and attendance. The ability to work long periods standing up High School Diploma or equivalent PHYSICAL DEMAND AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
