Advanced Counselor
Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Work Shift: Afternoons/Evenings (United States of America) SHIFT 8AM-5PM Primary Function/General Purpose of Position
The Advanced Counselor provides direct patient care under the guidance of a designated healthcare professional in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, and within policies, procedures, and guidelines of Bon Secours Mercy Health (BSMH). May provide clinical and administrative supervision. Essential Job Functions
Psychoeducation group facilitation Provides in-person facilitation of intensive outpatient program (IOP), partial hospitalization program (PHP), or outpatient psychotherapy Individual, family and group psychotherapy Participates in family and treatment team meetings Provides crisis assessment and referral services Completes psychosocial Assessments -within scope and clinical supervision Participates in discharge planning Gathers information Community resource knowledge and collaboration May completes substance use disorder (SUD) screenings, patient health questionnaire (PHQ-9), Columbia-Suicide Rating Scale (C-SSRS), generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) screening, and Social Determinants of Health screenings SUD discharge planning Completes Preadmission Screening and Resident Review (PASRR) May complete post-discharge calls May participate in 15 minute rounding Assists with onboarding new and/or entry level Counselors May take on more complex tasks and/or projects as needed Successfully participates to complete BSMH and departmental specific training as required This document is not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, skills, duties, requirements, or working conditions associated with the job. Required to have one of the following: Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) (required if employed in Virginia) Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with training Supervision (LPCC-S) (preferred) Education
Masters, Counseling, Expressive Art or related field (required) Work Experience
