Facilities & Automation Manager

We're seeking a hands-on Facilities & Automation Manager to lead all aspects of facility and grounds maintenance at our fast-paced distribution center. From managing material handling equipment (MHE) to ensuring our HVAC, automation conveyor lines, electrical systems, janitorial services, and overall infrastructure run smoothly, you'll play a critical role in keeping operations moving efficiently and safely. Location: On-site, Somerset, NJ - This role does not have relocation assistance Work Schedule: 1st shift with the ability to take emergency calls before and after scheduled shifts as needed Travel Specifics: 10% Competitive Total Rewards: Competitive salary of $95,000$120,000 plus yearly bonus, along with comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) with company match, generous PTO, sick time, and company holidays. Compensation is based on experience, skills, and education. Key Responsibilities
Manage maintenance of all facility systems including MHE, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, automated conveyor belts, automated package sorters, and more. Develop and maintain preventive maintenance programs, SOPs, and best practices. Prioritize and schedule maintenance activities to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency. Perform routine inspections and repairs on building systems and equipment. Coordinate with vendors for supplies, repairs, and ongoing service contracts. Monitor and report on maintenance metrics, analyzing trends for continuous improvement, and balancing workload based on priority in maintenance tracking system. Track inventory, manage spare parts, and complete associated documentation. Perform light facility maintenance including painting, caulking, and lighting replacements. Ensure full compliance with OSHA standards and company safety protocols. Support corporate and site-specific Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP); report any non-compliance. Assist in cross-building equipment moves as needed. Maintain detailed service records and ensure timely reporting of all issues and repairs.
