Friday Night Touchdown Sports Intern
WJW is seeking a highly motivated intern to assist with the planning and production of our award-winning scholastic sports program, Friday Night Touchdown for the upcoming fall season. The ideal candidate will have a passion for sports, specifically football and an excellent knowledge of social media, including Twitter, WordPress, and Microsoft Office. The sports intern will work with the show Producer on Fridays, Saturdays, and some weekday hours during the high school football season to compile game scores, highlights, and other pertinent information, to organize and share with our viewers and followers in a clear, concise, and informative manner. Responsibilities: Tracking live football games either through broadcasts or web streams Updating scores and posting on our live scoreboard and social media platforms Identifying outstanding or unusual events or performances and relaying that information in real-time Assisting with the planning, preparation, and production of the live broadcast Requirements: Must be a current college or graduate student in good standing Must be able to receive school credit for intern hours worked Strong knowledge of sports, specifically football Strong social media skills, specifically Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and WordPress Self-motivated, enthusiastic, determined, and dependable Available Friday and/or Saturday nights from August through November Paid internship $15 an hour.
