Systems Safety Engineer
The System Safety Engineer will support our Integrated Systems Lifecycle Engineering department. As a member of the ISLE department you'll work in a fast-paced team environment alongside Systems Design Manufacturing etc to evaluate different programs Safety Engineering needs. This includes performing safety analyses on new programs and maintaining and revising safety analyses for existing programs when required due to obsolescence or customer requirements. Responsibilities: Apply system safety engineering principles in accordance with MIL-STD-882E Prepare System Safety Engineering analysis and Generate documents in accordance with MIL-STD-882E including PHAs FHAs SHAs/SSHAs Bent Pin Analyses Fault Tree Analyses and Software System Safety Analyses. Identify system safety issues propose solutions and ensure appropriate action is taken to mitigate safety issues Generate/Review Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis FMECA or experience with FMEA. Develop review update and approve System Safety Artifacts and System Safety Requirements Document hazards using a closed-loop Hazard Tracking System Communicate project status to the CAM and IPT Lead as required. Basic Qualifications for Systems Safety Engineer: BS in Engineering in a STEM discipline or relevant degree with 5 years of System Safety Engineering experience or a MS in Engineering in a STEM discipline or relevant degree with 3 years of experience in Systems and/or Software Safety Engineering or a PhD with 1 year of experience Demonstrated ability to analyze recommend and drive safety into system design equipment and procedures in order to mitigate or eliminate hazards Demonstrated ability to apply system safety engineering principles in accordance with MIL-STD-882E or analyses such as PHAs FHAs SHAs/SSHAs Bent Pin Analyses Fault Tree Analyses and Software System Safety Analyses Demonstrated ability to identify system safety issues propose solutions and ensure appropriate action is taken to mitigate safety issues Demonstrated ability to generate/review Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis FMECA or FMEA experience. Demonstrated ability to develop review update and approve system safety artifacts and system safety requirements Knowledge of engineering drawings and ability to read schematics and parts lists. Ability to work independently Able to effectively communicate with all levels of employees and customers Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $86.00/hr.
