Medical Assistant
Assists with the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician. Assists with treatments ordered by physician as supervised by physician or registered nurse. Performs select clinical duties. Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information on patients' charts. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients. Performs basic clerical duties including answering the phone, maintaining records, and filing. Performs basic materials management functions to include ordering and stocking of supplies. Assists with maintaining a clean and orderly environment. Licensure/Certification/Registration: BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. Education: High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. Work Experience: Some experience as a medical assistant strongly preferred. Licensed Practical Nurse
Contributes to the assessment of patients and assures the well-being of patients. Administers medications and observes patients for adverse reactions to medications or treatments. Performs laboratory tests and therapeutic services. Educates patients/families about disease treatment plan including self care post discharge, holistic health needs, available resources and follow up care. Licenses/Certifications/Registration: BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. Practical/Vocational Nurse credentialed from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Education: High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. Work Experience: None required.
