Lab Assistant
The Lab Assistant will support all roles in ChemStore, adapting to the needs at any given time. This high-level position involves supporting processes such as cleaning validation and verification, sample login and destruction, and inventory management. The Lab Assistant will also troubleshoot issues and communicate them effectively. Full training in all areas of ChemStore is required, with the ability to assist in training as necessary. Responsibilities: Accept requests from customers and retrieve samples, standards, reagents, and consumables. Assemble and deliver kits, including worksheets, chemicals, and glassware for laboratory use. Enter transactions into SAP, LabWare, and Ariba to account for customer requests. Collect samples/standards when lab needs are complete and prepare them for delivery to the Warehouse for destruction. Prepare samples and perform cleaning validation/verifications using UV, pH, and total solids testing methods. Troubleshoot entry errors in Labware and issues in locating standard samples or ordering issues. Essential Skills: Bachelor's or Associate's degree in a science field, or Pharmacy Technician experience. At least 1 year of lab experience, which can be obtained through schooling. Strong communication skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications: Previous experience with pH testing, weight variations, UV testing, pipetting, and use of balances. Prior inventory management skills. Work Environment: The Lab Assistant will work in a Chemical Stockroom environment, dealing with multiple products, reagents, and drugs. The role requires collaboration within a team of six and with various people on-site. The dress code is business casual, including slacks or jeans, closed-toe shoes with high socks, and polos or shirts without large graphics. Shifts available are 2nd shift: Monday-Friday 3 PM-11:30 PM, and 3rd shift: Monday-Friday 11 PM-7:30 AM. Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
