Hybrid Collections Specialist

Join our dynamic team as a Collections Specialist where you will play a key role in managing multiple delinquent accounts to drive successful debt collection efforts. This position offers the opportunity to plan and execute strategies to recover payments, negotiate payment deadlines or plans, and handle customer inquiries and complaints. You will be responsible for managing inbound calls and utilizing various tools to locate members who may have relocated or changed contact information. Your work will be guided by strict adherence to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Responsibilities

Manage multiple delinquent accounts for debt collection efforts. Plan and implement strategies to recover payments. Negotiate payment deadlines or payment plans. Handle customer questions and complaints. Take inbound calls. Utilize credit bureau data, post office information, internet searches, and other tools to locate members who have moved or changed phone numbers. Follow all laws pertaining to collecting accounts, including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Complete BSA and required compliance training with a passing score. Essential Skills

1-2 years of experience in collections or accounts receivable Experience in a call center role or setting. Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office. Typing speed of 40 words per minute. Strong negotiation skills. Work Environment

The position starts with training alongside a current Collections Specialist in the office located in Frederick. Based on performance, this role will go hybrid where you work from home 4 days/week. Work hours are from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM or 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, initially onsite. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.98 - $21.35/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
