The Interventional Scrub Tech Paramedic is a health care professional that, through the utilization of specialized equipment and supplies while under the direction of a qualified physician, assists with trans-catheter procedures on adult patients resulting in accurate diagnosis and/or optimal treatment of congenital or acquired heart and/or peripheral vascular disease while maintaining maximum patient safety. The IT Paramedic is delegated by position and responsible for sterile procedural assistance, operation of specialty equipment, and support of departmental operations and patient care. Example of the support role includes venipuncture's, IV insertion, blood and urine specimen collections, vital signs, patient weight, application of monitoring equipment, cardiac monitoring, assisting with patient preparation. The IT Paramedic will perform intra-departmental transport with cardiac monitoring when indicated. The IT Paramedic, under the direction of the nurse, communicates/updates patients and families awaiting care and treatment. Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors and other employees regardless of cultural background. Qualifications: Education, Credentials, Licenses: High School Diploma/GED. Graduate of approved EMS-TEI program Current BCLS, ACLS, certifications Cardiac monitoring classes Current Paramedic license for practicing state Specialized Knowledge: Understanding of radiation protection and sterile technique Ability to perform vital sign checks including assessment and reassessment of physical pain Pharmacologic Treatment of lethal rhythms within protocol Cardiac monitoring Proficient at IV insertion Knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology Kind and Length of Experience: Successful completion of preceptorship and orientation to the facility and clinical area. Able to critically think and problem solve in routine and emergency situations. FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Right Career. Right Here.
