Computational Designer
Apply cutting-edge design methods and use Building Information Modeling (BIM) applications such as Autodesk Civil 3D or Autodesk Revit, programming languages, and visual programming plug-ins such as Dynamo and Grasshopper. Implement existing architectural and engineering design technologies and develop automation solutions for the company's Buildings, Energy & Resources, Environmental Services, Infrastructure, and Water business lines. Create computational solutions to complex architecture, engineering, and environmental science problems via visual programming. Stay abreast of latest developments and emerging technologies impacting digital design. Support the development of .NET add-ins for desktop software and integration into Autodesk Platform Services. Prepare user stories, workflows, and functional requirement documents on Design Automation best practices. Present developed solutions and relevant technologies to various business lines. 40 hours per week, M-F (9:00 a.m.5:00 p.m.). The salary range is $91,500 - $132,700 per year. The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, & work location. Individuals in this position may be paid a discretionary bonus. Requirements: Must have a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or a related field, and 3 year of related work experience; OR a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, or a related field, and 5 years of post-bachelor's, progressive related work experience. Of the required experience, must have 3 years of experience with the following: Using industry standard BIM applications including Autodesk Revit or Autodesk Civil 3D; and Create solutions for design, engineering, and architecture projects by using Visual programming tools including Dynamo, Rhino, or Grasshopper. Of the required experience, must have 1 year of experience with the following: C#; Python 3.X; Autodesk BIM 360 or Construction Cloud; Generative design packages including Generative Design for Revit and Galapagos; Optimization Techniques and Algorithms including experience with genetic algorithms; and Python Libraries for Data Analysis and Visualization including Pandas, SciPy, and NumPy.
