Diagnostic Laboratory of Oklahoma- Owasso, OK Monday-Friday 0630-1500 Essential Functions of Employment with DLO: Show up for work, on time & prepared each and every scheduled work day Perform all tasks and processes assigned to you including all tasks and processes you are fully qualified to perform and all tasks and processing that you may be over-qualified to perform Maintain a positive and supportive attitude throughout each and every scheduled work day & work as a collaborative team member with your fellow teammates on a daily basis Main Duties: Perform testing in the areas of Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Serology, Microbiology, and Blood Banking in a hospital environment. Weekly monitoring of QC and corrective action documentation. Oversees work performance of bench level techs and phlebotomists. Responsible for day-to-day activities of the laboratory in the absence of lab supervisor. Ensure lab maintains CAP and MQA requirements. Responsibilities
Required Knowledge: Understanding of standard laboratory processes and procedures. Must be able to follow written and oral instructions. Must have a good understanding of laboratory quality assurance standards. Must have good computer skills. Must be able to lead and coach staff to maintain optimal customer service levels. MT or MLT (ASCP) or equivalent. Required Experience: 5 years experience in a hospital setting. Previous experience in a leadership role preferred. Qualifications
Special Requirements: Some phlebotomy tasks will be required. Holiday and some weekend rotation required. Overtime may be required as staffing levels dictate. Must be willing to work outside of normal hours to maintain service levels to hospital. Physical and Mental Requirements: The normal performance of duties may require lifting and carrying objects: Objects 1 to 10 pounds are lifted and carried frequently; objects 11 to 25 pounds are lifted and carried occasionally; objects 36 to 50 pounds are seldom lifted or carried and objects over 50 pounds are not to be lifted or carried without assistance. Ability to stand and work at the bench for long periods of time. Frequent walking and/or standing. May be required to use a wide variety of manual and automated pipettes and laboratory instruments and apparatuses all of which demand significant manual dexterity. EEO
