Director Of Health Information Management (Him)
Conway Behavioral Health is seeking a skilled and dedicated Director of Health Information Management (HIM) to lead our HIM team. As an 80-bed acute behavioral health facility, we are committed to providing exceptional care in a supportive and collaborative environment. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of health information services, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting quality patient care through accurate and secure medical record management. Responsible for oversight and management of the daily operations of the Health Information Management (HIM) department. Maintain department productivity, quality and efficiency for all processes within the department. Lead and direct health information management services across the facility. Oversee data collection, storage, retrieval, filing and retention of medical records/data. Audit records and data for accuracy, compliance and timeliness. Review results with medical staff, nursing and clinical staff. Maintain approved levels of security and confidentiality of records/data. Interview, select, train and orient new employees to the department. Supervise medical records staff, coordinating schedules, delegating work assignments. May interface with inside/outside legal counsel regarding content of medical records. May oversee and complete coding according to current ICD and CPT coding classifications. Perform other functions and tasks as assigned. High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelors level Registered Record Administrator preferred. Two plus years' experience managing/supervising a medical record department. One to two years of behavioral health experience preferred. Must be knowledgeable in ICD-9-CM and DSM IV coding systems.
