Senior Upstream Process Engineer

Apex has an opportunity for a Senior Upstream Process Engineer role in the Lexington, MA area. This is a 10 month contract position, with expectation to extend and potentially convert, and the pay rate is flexible depending on experience. Here are the details: Position: Senior Upstream Process Engineer Location: Lexington, MA Duration: 10 Month Contract, with potential to extend/convert after that Position Description: As a Senior Upstream Process Engineer, reporting to the Associate Director of Upstream Manufacturing Sciences. You will respond and troubleshoot process issues; evaluate process data including bioreactor performance, conduct data trend review and provide training to manufacturing personnel and promote continuous improvement projects Required Skills: Support deviations and change controls and make data/science-driven process decisions regarding product impact on a regular basis Function as Manufacturing Sciences lead for technology transfers, including equipment and facility fit evaluations Author testing/sampling protocols, technical memos, and reports Assist with continued development of the process monitoring capabilities for manufacturing cell culture operations and provide support of a real-time multivariate process monitoring system for bioreactor operations Desired Skills: Bachelors degree in Chemical/Biochemical Engineering or Bio/Chemistry with 6+ years experience or Masters degree with 3+ years experience of process development / manufacturing experience for mammalian cell culture of recombinant protein Knowledge of the science and technology for the major unit operations associated with manufacturing operations to include cell culture, recovery, fluid transfer, filtration, chromatography, CIP/SIP, and UF/DF processes Working knowledge of cGMPs and statistical analysis methods. Knowledge of statistical analysis software and training in quality improvement techniques, operational excellence tools and project management.
