Clinical Informatics Specialist
Proactively achieves goals and objectives. Provide operational insight and understanding of the clinical informatics function within the broader scope of health informatics and information systems. Ensure collaboration between Informatics, technical, clinical and operational teams so technology and practices focus on efficiency, standardized practice and patient safety. Develop and maintain strong relationships with market leaders at various levels resulting in a dynamic where the partners consider the Clinical Informatics Specialist their primary point of contact for technology interests and challenges. Through trusted relationships, advise market partners in their technology interests via persuasion, influence, negotiation and compromise. Stay current and aware of societal and technological trends, issues and new developments. Create a culture of ownership and accountability within the team. Ensures work is approached as problem solvers with an active role in resolution. Serves as a representative within the market for partners and team members to escalate technology problems with both projects and routine operations. Collaborate with technical partners and peers throughout the Ascension organization. Use data and analytics to monitor the tools and technology in use. Assures team collaboration (Technology and local clinical teams) so new technology and new practices focus on efficiency, standardized practice and patient safety. Skills we seek: Exceptional communication skills in a variety of formats (written and verbal, synchronous and asynchronous) are necessary to support the regular need to collaborate, inform, and advise across teams and audiences. Provides integration, oversight and awareness of the Clinical Informatics role in the context of health informatics and information systems. Develop and maintain expertise in current clinician workflows including technology and human processes. Assure the coordination efforts to evaluate and optimize clinical system designs based on current clinical workflows and evidence based practice. Understand technical capabilities of systems and is consulted as an expert to identify best options to achieve desired outcomes with a focus on efficient workflows and patient safety. Awareness of the impact of implementing technology to facilitate practice within change management and adoption. Understands and supports change management principles for adoption of new or existing tech/tools/processes. Consulted for opportunities around efficiencies and improved patient outcomes. Implements content development of training resources related to technology use. Organize, prioritize, and execute assignments to achieve specific objectives, key performance indicators to achieve project deliverables. Continuously supports the team to elevate the role of clinical informatics by empowerment, coaching, and leading by example. Skilled in independently assessing issues and owning the engagement of the appropriate stakeholders. Education: High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Bachelor's degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
