Continuous Improvement Manager

Actalent is partnering with a family owned company in the corrugated packaging industry. We're seeking a Continuous Improvement Manager to drive efficiency, enhance product quality, and lead strategic process improvements across the entire corrugated box plant. This role will focus on improving production throughput, increasing machine efficiency, reducing setup times, and delivering measurable cost savings. The Continuous Improvement Manager will champion 6S initiatives, apply statistical process controls (SPC), and lead impactful projects aimed at streamlining operations, reducing waste, and boosting productivity. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver with a sharp analytical mind, proven experience in process improvement, and a passion for cultivating a culture of continuous improvement throughout the facility. Responsibilities: Process Improvement & Efficiency -Lead 6S implementation and sustainment across production and office environments. Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency in all aspects of the plant along with adding cost savings to the improvements. Utilize Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and SPC principles to optimize plant performance. Analyze production workflows to eliminate bottlenecks and reduce cycle times. Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices for enhanced safety, productivity and quality. Collaborate with maintenance, production, and other teams to streamline operational processes. Quality & Statistical Process Control (SPC) Implement and maintain SPC methodologies to monitor and improve process capability. Analyze production and quality data to identify trends and corrective actions. Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to process stability, defect reduction, and efficiency gains. Partner with quality and production teams to drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for product defects or process inconsistencies. Continuous Improvement Leadership Lead Kaizen events and cross-functional activities to engage employees in problem-solving. Foster a culture of continuous improvement by training and mentoring employees at all levels. Conduct time studies, process mapping, and value stream analysis to drive sustainable improvements. Work closely with supply chain, customer service, and office functions to improve order flow, inventory management, and administrative efficiency. Communicate progress and project outcomes to leadership, ensuring alignment with overall business goals. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, or process optimization within a manufacturing environment (corrugated industry experience preferred). Strong knowledge of 6S, Lean, Six Sigma, and SPC principles. Experience in conducting Kaizen events, root cause analysis, and data-driven decision-making.
