Recruiter: Quentin Chavis Jr. quentin.chavisjr@airgas.com Job description summary: The financial business analyst is responsible for providing business support for VP-Finance and the field organization. The regional company business analyst will assist in regional company P&L analysis and trends, budgeting and forecasting, pricing analysis, customer and segment profitability, creates and publicizes monthly and quarterly financial metrics and analytics for the region/areas/districts/operations, operating cost analysis, capital expenditures, acquisition analysis and due diligence, inventory management, cylinder/asset management, certain compliance related activities, and other ad hoc projects. Reports and analyzes financial and operating metrics, such as same-store sales, gross margins, operating expenses, asset utilization, capital expenditures, etc. Extensive analysis of monthly location level P&L results; including determination of trends, finding cost reduction opportunities, and monitoring and assisting in compliance with budget and cost efficiency programs. Create and distribute the monthly financial metrics and reporting packets Utilizes the various business reports and metrics to evaluate, interpret, and provide critical information in support of strategic and operating decisions. Month end reporting to the region management and other functional groups, preparing various analytics related to month end results, preparing journal entries Analyzes product price increase processes and provide support and analysis for sales and marketing related to customer price realization (i.e., measurement of periodic price increases and other pricing initiatives designed to enhance profitability). Assists in the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes. Prepares analyses related to local compensation programs, including gain sharing & various commission programs. Works closely with the VP-Finance and division finance support teams to better understand historical financial results, trends, and validate forecast assumptions. Performs extensive financial modeling in support of the division as well as corporate FP&A. Responsible for compliance of company policies and procedures at the local level, evaluating and providing feedback for continuous improvement opportunities. Assists in acquisition due diligence and integration. Assists with field audit activities regarding internal controls, SOP compliance, and SOX compliance, as needed. Other duties and projects as assigned. Provide financial training to the field. Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or related degree field required. In lieu of degree, consideration for up to 4 years of additional relevant experience may be considered. At least a year prior experience demonstrating financial accounting and/or analysis experience in positions of increasing responsibility. Prior experience should include working with different departments and cross-functional teams. Strong computer skills to specifically include proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Preferred qualifications: Proficiency in Microsoft Access is a plus. Previous experience with SAP and/or ERP systems preferred. Knowledge, skills & abilities: Ability to build effective relationships with all levels and roles in the organization. Strong analytical skills and a thorough understanding of how to leverage a wide variety of data and related computer tools to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization. Leadership skills to drive continuous improvement of processes. Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing; listens effectively and clarifies information as needed; works well with others in a cross-functional team environment across the organization knowing who to engage to achieve results. Uses candor and sensitivity in their dealings with others. Excellent organizational and time management skills to include the ability to multitask, manage multiple priorities, and effectively manage projects in a diverse organization. Strong computer skills to specifically include proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel). Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines. Ability to assume increasing responsibilities in a rapidly-changing environment. Physical demands: Employee may frequently be required to remain stationary for extended periods of time. Employee will frequently be required to observe and assess information received via computer. Requires frequent use of computer and telephone.
