The Histology Supervisor performs various anatomical pathology procedures in assigned areas as licensed. Under general supervision, is responsible for managing assigned, selected aspects of laboratory processes or shifts, which may include workflow, quality control process, performance improvement activities, training of new employees, advanced problem solving for customers and coworkers, department equipment or computer maintenance and upgrades, writing/reviewing procedures, or other tasks as assigned. Assists department leadership in daily operations as duties are assigned. The value you'll bring to the team: Supervises histotechnologists, technicians, and assistants when processing tissue biopsy specimens Provides oversight for routine histology functions, including processing, embedding, microtomy, and staining Observes routine patient test performances, including patient preparation, specimen handling, and testing Serves as a staff resource and assists with performance reviews Coordinates workflow on a daily basis to ensure timely analysis Resolves staff issues and recommends disciplinary actions, as needed Monitors tissue specimens for microscopic examinations Performs photographic procedures and diagnostic/analytic specimen testing Interprets, documents, and reports results Performs quality control testing, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting practices Ensures the analytic accuracy, precision, and sensitivity in test methods The expertise and experience you'll need to succeed: REQUIRED: 3 years of technical experience Required Florida- Clinical Laboratory Technologist PREFERRED: Clinical Lab Technologist Histotechnologist (HTLASCP) Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) 1 year of leadership experience Preferred Multi-State Division- Histotechnologist ASCP This facility is an equal opportunity employer and complies with federal, state and local anti-discrimination laws, regulations and ordinances.
