Caterpillar Inc. seeks Engineer - Design at its facility located at 1300 4H Park Road, Pontiac, Illinois 61764. Develop and support advanced high pressure fuel systems for Caterpillar & Perkins engines. Design, NTI/ NPI program leadership, hands on testing, structural/ hydraulic/ electrical analysis, supplier collaboration, validation, manufacturing/ assembly planning, and mechatronics control strategy development. Develop and evaluate concepts for design and performance improvements. Support New Technology Introduction (NTI), New Product Introduction (NPI) and Continuous Product Improvement (CPI) programs. Collaborate and communicate with internal and external customers, suppliers, team members, and manufacturing facilities (Nuevo Laredo, MX (virtual meetings) and Pontiac, MI). Conduct bench endurance testing for validation of design changes or component resourcing. Conduct product maintenance support including drawing releases. REQS: This position requires a bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Materials Science or a related field plus 3 years of experience as a Design Engineer, Test Engineer, Manufacturing Engineering or related occupation. Alternatively will accept a master's degree, or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Materials Science or a related field plus 2 years of experience as a Design Engineer, Test Engineer, Manufacturing Engineering or related occupation. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Engine component, system, or platform design; (2) Diesel Fuel Systems or Engine Systems design, controls (Mechatronics), performance, or simulation experience; (3) Solenoid or electronic component/system design, test, or manufacturing. Summary Pay Range: $95,640.00 - $143,520.00 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience.
