Operational Risk Lead -- Payments

The ORM Lead for the Payments line of business (LOB) is responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating existing and emerging risks in alignment with Enterprise Risk Management expectations, and Operational Risk Management Framework (ORMF), industry best practices, and regulatory requirements. This position must also maintain strong relationships with the Payments line of business, other second line-of-defense (SLOD) partners, and senior management to effectively influence change and improve the overall risk and control environment. Position Responsibilities: Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA): Collaborate with the first line-of-defense (FLOD) in the execution of the RCSA process; reach conclusions that are fact-based and well substantiated, inclusive of thematic observations and Issue identification. Support and lead initiatives that impact key business processes and risk and control identification via the RCSA process. Leverage ORMF and defined methodologies for continuous risk assessment and management. Risk Management and Internal Controls Independent Challenge: Utilize subject matter expertise and industry knowledge to provide oversight and credible challenge to the Payments line of business operational risk management activities. Partner with the Payments line of business to identify control improvements and / or innovative risk reduction solutions. Assist the Payments line of business with timely identification, recording, mitigation, and remediation of Issues and Operational Loss Events. Monitoring, Oversight, and Advisory Leverage available reporting, industry trends, subject matter expertise to inform monitoring and oversight approach (aligned to ORMF requirements). Provide guidance and support to FLOD partners on ORMF compliance. Escalate operational risk concerns to impacted stakeholders, senior leadership, committees, etc. to ensure awareness and timely remediation. Partner with FLOD to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed-upon timeframes and advance appropriately when risks, significant issues, or challenges arise. Other Assist with or identify departmental initiatives and enhancements as needed. Assist with other ORMF related activities / projects as needed.
