Adult Ecmo Specialist

This position can be either a Florida licensed RN, Registered Nurse or a Florida licensed RRT, Registered Respiratory Therapist. Operate extra-corporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) equipment and performs ECMO therapy according to physician orders. Monitor pump functioning throughout patient therapy and maintains pump integrity. Monitor circuit volume and administers products, medications and/or volumes as ordered. Monitor anticoagulation, electrolyte, acid-base balance and blood-gas composition values and adjusts ECMO circuit to maintain physician's orders. Generate and compile appropriate documentation and charges related to ECMO. Precept new ECMO team members. Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. One or more of the following required: Registered Nurse credentialed from the Florida Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Respiratory Care Practitioner credentialed from the Florida Board of Respiratory Care obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Respiratory Therapist credentialed from the Florida Board of Respiratory Care obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Education: High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. Due to the current needs of the department an experienced ECMO Specialist is required.
