Overview:
The Athletics Technology Technician is responsible for the operation, maintenance, testing, and installation of technical and audio-visual systems that support the Department of Athletics across the OBU (OKLAHOMA BAPTIST UNIVERSITY) campus. This includes production control, athletic facilities, stadiums, and fields. The position should have strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills as well as excellent communication.
Job Role and Responsibility • Perform pre-game tests of AV equipment for all athletic events on campus, including Public Address, amplification, and scoreboard video displays. • Perform pre-game tests of scorekeeping equipment for all athletic events on campus, including Daktronics systems, scoreboard entry, horns, and timing. • Utilize Pro Presenter and other similar software that will be used to display content on large LED screens at athletic facilities. • Become the subject matter expert in streaming technology and be able to support Athletics staff members using the technology. Currently OBU uses a variety of systems, including Tricaster, 3Play, and Hudl. • Following the lead of the OBU Network Services team, troubleshoot athletic department technology network issues. • Develop preseason technical checklists for every OBU sport, detailing each item that should be tested and verified prior to the start of each season. • Plan and coordinate the execution of each preseason checklist, assembling key personnel to perform the verification of all systems (recommended two weeks before each season start).

Receive direction from the Assistant Vice President of Technology Services and supervision and direction from the Manager of Audio-Visual Technology. • Attend and provide technical support for OBU athletic events. • Coordinate and assist with the setup and teardown of technology necessary to support OBU athletic events. • Work with vendors to patch, upgrade, repair, and otherwise maintain technology systems required for athletic events. • Work closely with the OBU Network Services team and Manager of Audio-Visual Technology to escalate issues and collaborate on repair, upgrade, and maintenance of technology equipment. • When there are no conflicting athletic events, be prepared to support other major campus events with the AV team, such as Welcome Week, The Weekend, etcetera. • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Knowledge and Skills Required Must be a clear communicator with exceptional attention to detail Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others Highly organized and capable of giving directions to student workers Able to handle stressful situations in a fast-paced environment Possess high standards of conduct, appearance, and attitude Possess strong analytical and troubleshooting skills Must have experience in supporting audio-visual equipment or computers in an event setting
Qualifications, Experience and Education Required High School Diploma 1 Year of A/V technical or computer support experience Customer service or event support experience Must be an active member of an *Evangelical, Christian church *Evangelical is a broad term referring to segment within Christianity which maintains the authority of the Bible and the belief in salvation by faith in Jesus alone
Preferred Bachelor’s Degree 3-Years of A/V event experience Experience with enterprise networks Experience with NDI-based content streaming
