The Division of Surgical Oncology at Rutgers Cancer Institute, within the Department of Surgery, Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and in partnership with the Robert Wood Johnson Barnabas Health System, is recruiting at the Assistant/Associate Professor rank for an academically oriented Surgical Oncologist. We are searching for a candidate with strong interest in melanoma and sarcoma to work in our busy and well-established multi-disciplinary melanoma and soft tissue oncology program. The position will report to the Division Chief of Surgical Oncology, at the Rutgers Cancer Institute. The academic appointment will be within the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and located in New Brunswick, NJ. Faculty members are expected to support the educational goals of the school, engaging in teaching activities for medical students and residents, as well as delivering targeted lectures in their area of expertise. Academic rank is commensurate with experience. Qualified candidates with exceptional academic credentials and clinical experience may be considered for the rank of professor with additional leadership responsibilities as Head of the Melanoma/Sarcoma Section and Co-Leader of the Cutaneous and Soft Tissue Oncology Program at the Rutgers Cancer Institute. The Cutaneous Oncology Section is a group of regionally and nationally recognized physicians who treat patients with malignancies of the skin and soft tissues. We are the busiest melanoma surgical center in the state of New Jersey and offer excision of primary and recurrent cancers, sentinel lymph node biopsies and resection of metastatic recurrences for those patients that need them—often in conjunction with state-of-the-art clinical trials. As a National Cancer Institute ( NCI ) Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, Rutgers Cancer Institute is a leader in high-intensity cancer care, offering comprehensive hematology/oncology clinical programs. Partnering with RWJBarnabas Health, the state’s largest health care delivery system, we provide sophisticated oncology care to patients close to home. This integrated cancer care model offers access to advanced diagnostic and treatment options, including clinical trials, immunotherapy, proton therapy, precision medicine, CAR T-cell therapy, and cardio-oncology.
