Base pay range $130,000.00/yr - $150,000.00/yr Client is a Life & Annuity carrier, which is a mid-size, investment fund backed company that is fast-growing but established. Currently seeking an experienced FP&A Manager in the life (re)insurance industry, specializing in the acquisition and management of in-force life insurance and annuity portfolios. The FP&A Manager will play a key role in analyzing financial results, guiding strategic decision-making, and providing insights to senior management and rating agencies.

In this role, you will prepare and present quarterly variance analysis to senior management, board members, and external stakeholders, providing insights into financial performance by business block, asset class, and risk type. You will lead the development of annual overhead budgets, analyze quarterly actual-to-budget results, and conduct distributable earnings analysis while collaborating with the Embedded Value team on experience variance analysis. Additionally, you will partner with investment and actuarial teams to validate actual vs. expected results for investments, underwriting, expenses, and capital needs. The role also involves supporting ad hoc financial modeling to guide strategic decisions, designing dashboards to enhance reporting, recommending process improvements for greater efficiency, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Data Analytics; CPA or MBA preferred. Minimum of 8 years in financial analysis or reporting within the life (re)insurance industry. Strong understanding of US Statutory and GAAP accounting principles, life insurance products, investment income, and profitability drivers. Expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, and data analysis.
