In addition to staff pharmacist duties, This role is responsible for overseeing the pharmacy centric technologies and site specific informatics. This role also assists in supporting various regulatory requirements, medication safety, antibiotic stewardship, and so forth. As such, this individual, while under the direction of the pharmacy director, will also be responsible for training and ensuring competence for all relevant activities. This includes, but is not limited to EPIC updating, pump library upkeep, pharmacy software updates, etc., and also performs the role of a pharmacist as needed. This position serves as Pharmacist in Charge for Incline Village Community Hospital.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Information Technology Responsible for the upkeep, maintenance scheduling, and general upkeep of all pharmacy-centric technologies. This includes, but is not limited to: EPIC, pyxis, IV pumps, pharmacy-centric software, etc. Meetings and committees In collaboration with the pharmacy director, helps prepare for and lead medication safety committee and implement requirements associated with Medicaid Estate Recovery Plan (MERP) as defined by California Department of Public Health (CDPH). Helps Director prepare, and collaborate for Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T), antibiotic stewardship, and other committees as needed. Operational Assistance Assists with creating and maintaining staff schedules and oversees key pharmacy operational areas such as, but not limited to USP 800, USP 797, controlled substance monitoring, etc. Serves as designated person for USP 797 and 800. Staff Education Responsible for overseeing the education of pharmacy staff for select duties and processes as it pertains to their other job functions. Pharmacy Staffing Provides assistance with general pharmacy needs and processes as they arise. Patient Care As defined in the pharmacist job description Provides collaborative assistance to the pharmacy director. Demonstrates System Values in performance and behavior. Complies with System policies and procedures. Other duties as may be assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities Carries out supervisory responsibility in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Minimum Education/Experience Bachelor's Degree Graduate of ACPE accredited School of Pharmacy with a Bachelor's Degree in Science-Pharmacy 1-2 years relevant Required Licenses/Certifications California Pharmacist Upon hire Nevada Pharmacy Board Certificate Upon hire Other Experience/Qualifications Required: Must be able to interact and communicate in English, both orally and written, with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, and families in an effective manner, exhibiting tact, enthusiasm, and patience. Must be able to be sensitive to cultural and bilingual issues. Preferred: 2-3 years acute care hospital experience with a strong background in Oncology Board Certification. Knowledge and experience with unit dose drug distribution, IV admixture service and clinical drug therapeutics
