Position Summary
The purpose of the
Senior Business Development Representative
position is to generate new client revenue for Convergence Networks Managed Services Programs, IT & Cybersecurity. This is accomplished by identifying business issues and problems that can be remediated by our solutions, communicate our ability to solve these issues, and moving them through the process to sale.
WHAT DO OUR BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT REPRESENTATIVE’S DO?
Build and maintain a pipeline of potential clients through cold calls, emails, LinkedIn outreach, marketing collaboration, webinars, and creative prospecting strategies. Deliver compelling onsite and virtual presentations to showcase our solutions and expertise. Prepare customized proposals, quotes, and timely responses to RFPs/RFIs. Clearly communicate the benefits of our offerings and set accurate expectations for prospects. Track sales activities and opportunities within our CRM (HubSpot) and manage the sales pipeline through all stages. Network with centers of influence and participate in relevant industry groups and associations that align with our target client profile. Collaborate with Marketing to design outreach campaigns for key market segments. Demonstrate accountability to meeting or exceeding sales quotas. Attend regular sales meetings and ensure compliance with internal processes and company standards. Gain strong knowledge of our service catalog and how it addresses client needs. Enter time and expenses promptly into our ERP system. Occasionally travel to client sites as required.
WHAT ARE THE QUALIFICATIONS I NEED TO HAVE?
5-7 years of hands-on experience in relevant business development or technical solution sales roles. Proven experience in building and nurturing client relationships, ideally in Managed Services or Technology sectors with a solution sales approach. Customer-centric mindset and enjoyment of working with clients and external stakeholders. High energy, motivation, and strong negotiation abilities. Organization, presentation, and customer service skills; proficient with office applications. Effective communicator, with excellent writing and active listening skills. Ability to multitask, adapt rapidly to changing priorities, and accurately enter data. Self-starter who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
WHAT IS THE WORK ENVIRONMENT LIKE?
Standard office setting with a mix of sitting, standing, and computer work; occasional lifting or carrying of equipment for onsite engagements may be needed. Frequent interaction via meetings, phone calls, email, and occasional client site visits.
