We have an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Supervisor to lead a team and design Aircraft and Airframe Structures at General Atomics-ASI located in Adelanto, CA, at the prototype facility. This position will support the design of next-generation, high-performance uncrewed aircraft. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead teams of design engineers to accomplish the design and execution of prototype aircraft and special projects in alignment with program objectives. Coordinate across functional teams (Structural Design, Loads Development, Flight Technologies, Structural Analysis, System Integration, Materials and Processes, Manufacturing, Tooling, System Development and Test). Develop requirements, internal statements of work, and project estimates for projects of varying scopes. Develop resource and execution plans aligned with program schedules/budgets and team resources. Airframe Designer (~70%) Contribute to the conceptual and detailed design of prototype aircraft, including CAD modeling (NX), structural sizing, design reviews, and documentation, while integrating feedback. Utilize first principles and design guides to develop and trade aerostructures rapidly. Own the development of primary and secondary aircraft structural parts, assemblies, and installations using sheet metal, billet metallic, and composite materials for new or modified aircraft. Coordinate with Project Engineers, Stress Engineers, Flight Technologies, Manufacturing, Procurement/Planning, QA, and other departments to mature the design from conception to production. Lead and work within an Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment, interfacing with IPT leadership, suppliers, and other disciplines to develop engineering design solutions through Product Definition Packages. Bachelor's, master's, or PhD in engineering or a related field from an accredited institution, with nine or more years of experience with a bachelor's, seven or more with a master's, or four or more with a PhD. Equivalent experience may be considered. Strong understanding of engineering concepts, principles, codes, and theory; ability to apply broad technical knowledge and expand expertise. Quick learner with the ability to adapt to evolving environments, organize work, and solve complex problems. Excellent communication, computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and lead a team on semi-routine tasks. Willing to work extended hours as required. A Professional Engineering License is desirable. Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security clearance. Preferred Qualifications: Strong foundation in core engineering principles. Passion and practical experience with aircraft (pilot, homebuilding, A&P, RC, etc.). Experience with aircraft and airframe design. Proficiency in finite element analysis of parts and assemblies. Ability to review stress and stiffness model results and implement improvements or detect errors. Hands-on skills in building, machining, fabricating, and repairing. Salary:

$105,890 - $189,545
