Job Description: Microchip's Frequency and Time Systems (FTS) business unit is a leader in precise time solutions, setting the world's standard for time. The unit provides precise time generation, distribution, and application across aerospace, defense, communications, IT infrastructure, and metrology industries. Our products support standards like GPS timing, IEEE 1588 (PTP), NTP, Synchronous Ethernet, and more.

Our Government Systems group in Boulder, CO seeks a Technical Program Manager to lead contract-funded and IR&D programs/projects through their full lifecycle, including R&D, embedded product development, and large-scale system deployments. The role covers technical areas such as frequency and time, GPS/GNSS, PNT, RF, signal processing, metrology, and data analysis, developing custom technology to meet critical infrastructure and mission needs.

The successful candidate will have experience managing complex, multidisciplinary projects, leading teams through system requirements reviews, design reviews, and test readiness reviews. They should be a self-starter, capable of contributing technically and leading cross-matrix teams. Experience with government contract proposals, negotiations, and business activities is desired, along with strong communication skills as the main customer contact.

Responsibilities include IMS, forecast, resource planning, risk mitigation, and managing multidisciplinary teams effectively. Knowledge of supply chain processes, hardware tracking, vendor coordination, and negotiation is also important. We seek a highly motivated Technical Program Manager with engineering experience in systems, hardware/design, software, or integration, and preferably experience initiating and leading scrums or task forces.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline

At least 10 years of experience in program/project leadership, system reviews, government contract proposals, or engineering roles in systems, hardware, software, or integration

Proficiency in MS Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Word

Excellent communication skills in English

US Citizenship and active TS/SCI clearance or ability to obtain one

Additional Desired Qualifications:

Master's degree in engineering

Background in timing, navigation, GPS/GNSS

PMI certification

Current TS/SCI clearance preferred

Note: This role involves travel up to 25%. Physical attributes and requirements include sitting, walking, standing, and typical business hours.

We offer a competitive total compensation package, including base salary ($88,000-$232,000), stock units, bonuses, health benefits, retirement plans, and ESPP. The salary range depends on location, skills, and experience.
