Performs highly advanced computer systems analysis work related to the Data Center Services (DCS) program. Focuses on providing exceptional customer support and relationship management for the Shared Technology Services (STS) program, which includes DCS, Managed Security Services, and Texas.gov Services programs. Work involves directing the planning, budgeting, and analysis of system requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or to improve existing systems and designing and implementing designs using software-programming languages, hardware, operating systems, DCS programs, and cloud solutions. Serves as a Lead worker. Works under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

Apply fast, check the full description by scrolling below to find out the full requirements for this role. • Assists with developing and implementing strategic planning actions related agency's systems. • Establishes methods and procedures for work activities; identify and resolve operational problems; audit and compliance review; communicate expertise and approval concerning activities. • Coordinates studies and the preparation of reports that include study findings, recommendations, and instructions for proposed system implementations; formulates logical descriptions of problems; and devises and implements optimum solutions. • Serves as a lead worker to TxDOT employees by serving as a resource for complex questions and providing technical training; providing input on employees' career conversations; approving employees' leave requests to ensure operations coverage; and presenting workflow and operational updates to the supervisor/manager. • Consults with districts, divisions and other agencies regarding issues related to IT services delivery. • Leads and/or participates in the planning, design, development, implementation, support, and maintenance of information technology security measures to safeguard departmental information. • Identifies opportunities for the appropriate and cost-effective investment of financial resources in capital budgets. • Takes a proactive role in leading cost optimization and environmental efficiency initiatives including across servers (Linux and Windows), cloud, hardware, storage, software, SaaS, PaaS, IPaaS, and IaaS environments. • Serves as the primary customer service contact, working closely with the various ITD Sections leaders and technical resources and liaison between TxDOT and the service providers. • Participates in projects that cross functional agency systems and other state entities that require coordinating, planning, and scheduling during project development and implementation stages. • Performs site visits to discuss various management issues related to real property. • Collaborates to ensure consistent services delivery, quality standards, performance metrics, and ongoing process improvement, including cost and environmental optimization efforts. • Performs other job responsibilities as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems. Relevant work experience may be substituted for degree on a year per year basis. Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications Experience: 5 years of experience in systems analysis and design work. (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent). Related graduate level education may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis. Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver’s license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.
