David Evans and Associates (DEA) is seeking a highly skilled Freight Rail Client Team Leader / Senior Project Manager. This position can be located in Dallas/Fort Worth or College Station, TX, focusing specifically on our Rail Market’s Strategic Growth. The responsibilities include project management and business development to support our Transit and Rail Group. The ideal candidate will be a motivated leader with extensive experience and market expertise in multi-disciplinary transit and rail projects, playing a vital role from conceptualization to execution.

Identify and evaluate new market opportunities; develop and implement strategies to target new clients and projects. Business Development:
Manage client relationships, sell DEA services, develop new business, lead cross-unit sales, forecast sales, and stay updated on client technology trends. Client Management:
Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensure high satisfaction, lead contract negotiations, and serve as a primary contact for clients. Project Management:
Act as principal-in-charge or project manager, monitor project team performance, manage contractual responsibilities, mitigate risks, and ensure timely, high-quality deliverables. Leadership and Mentoring:
Lead and mentor junior engineers and project managers, fostering professional growth. Team and Resource Leadership:
Lead pursuit staffing, partner decisions, revenue forecasting, and oversee profitability. Additional duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field. Professional Engineer (PE) license. At least 10 years’ experience in civil engineering design, especially freight rail land development projects. Experience with railroad engineering, familiarity with design guidelines and specifications. Effective communication and teamwork skills. Ability to travel periodically. Experience with projects for BNSF, UPRR, CPKC, NS, or industry rail. Proven success in project delivery and business growth. Commitment to an employee-owned culture. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and communication tools. Strong technical writing and presentation skills. Ability to supervise a team of professionals and technicians. Preferred Qualifications: Proximity to Texas locations or clients preferred. Recognition as a technical expert in a specialization.
