Primary Responsibilities HDR has an exceptional career opportunity for an experienced professional to serve in a leadership position as our Minnesota/Wisconsin Resources Business Group Project Delivery Leader (PDL). As PDL, you will report to the Minnesota/Wisconsin Business Group Manager (BGM) and work alongside the BGM to provide project review oversight and management of highly strategic projects across both of the offices within Minnesota and Wisconsin (St. Louis Park and Madison). You will collaborate closely with HDR’s Resources Market Sector Leads (Power, Industrial, Waste, and Federal Energy) to transition strategic initiatives for business development into successful project delivery within the Minnesota/Wisconsin Area. You will serve as the Principal In Charge, Project Sponsor, or Client Manager for critical projects delivered within Minnesota and Wisconsin, responsible for coordinating staffing and technical resources with service leaders throughout HDR.

As PDL, you will collaborate closely with Area Resources leadership to advance the technical delivery, career path development, and mentorship of area staff. Your direct reports may include local program managers, project managers, commercial managers, and collaborative delivery leads. In addition to your primary responsibilities as summarized below, the PDL will be responsible for collaborating on technical delivery and business development for cross-business group opportunities with HDR’s Transportation, Water, Architecture, and Building Engineering Systems business groups. You will also support recruiting efforts to attract and retain eminent talent for our local program.

Responsibilities include:

Develop project management skills for staff across all Area offices

Provide project management team organization and leadership for projects across Area offices

Perform project reviews focusing on delivery oversight, financials, schedule, quality, and project staffing

Coordinate with market sector leaders on technical staff assignments for projects across Area offices and workshare management with HDR Areas outside of Minnesota and Wisconsin

Perform delegated matrix of authority (MOA) responsibilities from BGM

Support Area project management processes focusing on removing barriers to execution to support the successful and effective delivery of HDR projects

Support the implementation of standard practices, procedures, and approaches

Support Technical and digital delivery evolution

Help serve as a champion for cross Business Group efforts

Actively participate in recruiting efforts for the Area RBG program

Preferred Qualifications

Successful project and/or program management experience with a focus on technical delivery and project leadership

Experience leading major BD campaigns, with understanding of client needs and marketing strategies

Proven success in cultivating client relationships and executing projects in local markets

Experience initiating and managing growth

Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

Team-first, collaborative attitude

Self-motivated with minimal oversight

Well-organized with multi-tasking skills

Ability to meet tight deadlines

Strong analytical and organizational skills

Document control experience (ProjectWise a plus)

MS in relevant Engineering fields (Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Environmental) preferred

Minnesota and/or Wisconsin PE (ability to obtain by comity within 6 months is acceptable)

Prior Power, Industrial, or Waste consulting experience preferred

Local candidates preferred

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related field

10 years related experience

At least 5 years of project management experience

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, estimating and scheduling software (Primavera P3 or SureTrak preferred), project management software (Prolog preferred)

Ability to interact with design teams and excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills
