SQL Developer

SQL Developer We are seeking a SQL Developer with strong SQL Server development expertise to join our team. This position focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining complex database solutions while also supporting business intelligence initiatives using Power BI. The ideal candidate is highly proficient in SQL Server and related back-end technologies, with experience ingesting and modeling data from a wide variety of sources. Power BI experience is required but secondary to database development. This is a remote position for candidates living in the following states: OR, AK, AZ, ID, FL, TX, and WA. Design, develop, and optimize SQL Server stored procedures, functions, views, and ETL processes to support business needs. Collaborate with analysts, project managers, and other developers to gather requirements and implement database solutions. Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and applications using Power BI (cloud and on-premises). Ensure accuracy, performance, and scalability of database and reporting solutions. Maintain detailed technical documentation and create release notes for new features. Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including testing and deployment. Support and participate in a 247 on-call rotation. Perform other duties as assigned. SQL Developer Qualifications Bachelors degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Services, or similar) with 3+ years of experience, or 7+ years of hands-on programming experience. Minimum 4 years of experience developing with Microsoft SQL Server, including T-SQL, stored procedures, and performance tuning. Minimum 3 years of experience building reports and dashboards with Power BI and PBIRS. Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and source integration. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong analytical, problem solving, decision making, and organizational abilities. Experience working in a DevOps environment preferred. Background in health insurance or experience with Cognizant/Trizetto Facets is a plus. Must be dependable, detail-oriented, and able to manage shifting priorities effectively.
