Head of Data Science - Biotech

Talentry's client is developing a novel technology platform for gene regulation, and they are looking for exceptional team members to join them.
The Head of Biological Data Science will lead a team of computational biologists, bioinformaticians, and data engineers. They will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of scientists on experimental design and analytical approaches to inform preclinical R&D and therapeutic development.
Responsibilities: Lead the Biological Data Science department. Supervise biostatistical analysis of clinical data. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on experimental design and analytical approaches for high-volume sequencing data. Oversee strategic planning for bioinformatic analysis pipelines. Provide guidance on computational analyses supporting regulatory filings. Requirements
Required Qualifications:
PhD in a relevant field. 5+ years of post-PhD experience in the biotech industry. Strong analytical/scientific background with team leadership experience. Experience analyzing high-throughput sequencing datasets. Experience with clinical biostatistics, clinical trial development, and/or regulatory filings. Strong programming background in Python and R. Excellent communication skills. Experience in experimental design and cross-team collaboration. Preferred Qualifications:
Expertise in gene regulation, epigenetics, CRISPR biology, and/or gene therapy. Theoretical and practical experience in machine learning/deep learning. Familiarity with protein engineering. Experience with regulatory submissions and interactions with health authorities. Familiarity with Github and AWS.

The salary range for this position is $180,000-$210,000
