Our Fortune 500 Medical Device client has an exciting opportunity for a Global Category Specialist.
Job Summary: The Global Category Specialist – Sales & Marketing is responsible for supporting and executing category strategies that drive value across the global enterprise. This role partners closely with internal stakeholders in Sales, Marketing, and Communications to source, negotiate, and manage supplier relationships. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in strategic sourcing, demonstrated success delivering cost savings and process improvements, and a deep understanding of the Sales & Marketing supplier landscape.
Responsibilities: • Support and execute sourcing strategies for Sales & Marketing categories (e.g., media, creative, digital, events, PR, research). • Conduct RFx events, supplier evaluations, and contract negotiations using Ariba. • Partner with cross-functional teams to identify sourcing opportunities and deliver measurable value. • Analyze market trends and supplier performance to inform sourcing decisions. • Manage supplier relationships and support ongoing performance evaluations. • Ensure compliance with sourcing policies, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Quality Systems Duties and Responsibilities: In all actions, demonstrates a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures.
Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, or related field • Must have 5+ years of relevant sourcing experience, preferably in a global or matrixed organization. • Must be experienced with understanding of indirect sourcing / consultative • Proven track record in strategic sourcing and category execution with measurable results. • Experience in SAP Ariba or similar e-sourcing platforms. • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills • ***Familiarity with the medical device, healthcare, or high-tech industry strongly preferred. • Experience in creative firms, market research firms, sales & marketing firms --HUGE PLUS • Experience in a regulated environment
