Nurse Practitioner - Neurovascular Surgery
Position Details:
  • Coverage Dates: December 2025 - March 2026
  • Reason for Need: Maternity Leave
  • Setting: Hospital-based
  • EMR: Epic
  • Team: 3 Neurosurgeons
  • Patient Population: Adult & Geriatric
  • Supervision:
    • APP will not work autonomously
    • Supervising physician always available by phone if not on-site
Schedule & Availability:
  • 12-hour day and night shifts
  • Minimum 3 shifts/week
  • Nights and weekends required
  • On-call: Yes (3 shifts/week)
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and treat illnesses
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests
  • Write prescriptions
  • Coordinate care
  • First responder to any code stroke alerts within the facility
Licenses & Certifications - Required:
  • AANP Certification
  • Active Virginia NP License
  • ACLS Certification
  • ENLS Certification
Preferred Candidate Profile:
  • Neurovascular experience highly preferred
  • Minimal training provided - no new grads
