Responsibilities

n
Prepares and cooks all items needed for patient tray line cafeteria and catering events.
n

Prepares meals that are of good quality: seasoned properly proper doneness temperature consistency on time and presented attractively.
n

Accurately prepares meals using proper techniques; confers with dietary personnel as necessary.
n
n
Follows appropriate recipes as provided.
n
n
Properly wraps dates and stores food.
n
n
Uses proper body mechanics when handling food and kitchen equipment.
n
n
Properly uses a thermometer for cooking and storing of foods.
n
n
Follows modified diets for special patient care.
n
n
Responsible for cooking to diet office tallies and forecasts.
n
n
Responsible for keeping work area neat clean and organized.
n
n
Responsible for rotation of foods in Cooks boxes.
n

Qualifications

n
High School graduate or GED
n
n
A minimum of two years recent experience as a cook or assistant cook.
n
n
Fire Safety card required within 90 days of hire.
n

This position is covered by SEIU-UHW and subject to terms and conditions of the collective bargaining agreement.

We are currently seeking a Cook to join our team. The Ideal candidate will have previous experence as a Cook. As a Cook at Northridge Hospital Medical Center you will prepare, season and cook meals for our hospital patients, employees, physicians, and visitors.

Pay Range

$24.15 - $30.37 /hour
