Position Summary
Aircraft Maintenance Technicians are FAA-certified Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) who must deliver safe, dependable, and high-quality service to every aircraft they encounter. Maintenance Technician duties consist in large part of preventive maintenance care to repairs. Mechanics perform routine inspections, repairs, scheduled maintenance, and post-run tests.

Duties/Responsibilities
- Maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and test aircraft
- Maintain work environment to ensure safe, clean, and orderly aircraft hangar
- Ensure safe and legal practices in accordance with FAA and United Aviate policy and regulations
- Ensure all aircraft maintenance documentation is executed in compliance with applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, company policies and procedures, and applicable maintenance manuals
- Being alert for defective, worn, or failed parts as well as safe working conditions.
- Sign for accomplishment of work on applicable forms and records
- Housekeeping duties such as policing his or her work and/or repair area as well as maintenance of company property
- Properly tag aircraft components, parts, and panels including racks by aircraft
- Operate all power tools and equipment necessary to accomplish job assignment
- Maintain awareness of hourly goals for tasks assigned
- Flexible with schedule to meet support requirements for 24/7 operations.
- Perform other duties as may be required
- 5+ years of supervisory experience preferred
- 5+ years' experience performing as an accomplished aircraft mechanic with progression of responsibilities or have previous Production Supervisory experience
- Working knowledge of FAA regulations
- Ability to understand and interpret aircraft technical data
The FAA requires mechanics working on airplanes to be certified. Requirements to be a certified mechanic through the FAA for a U.S. citizen include:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
- Be 18 years old or older
- Be fluent in English
- Possess an Airframe & Powerplant Certification
- Meet experience requirements (18 months on airframes or power plants, or 30 months of combined experience) or graduate from an FAA-approved school
- Pass written, oral, and practical tests
- Must have exceptional written and oral communication skills and be able to interact with a wide variety of people.
- Advanced computer skills (knowledge of MS Office programs, such as Word, and Excel) are preferred.
- Must have good people, team building, and problem-solving skills
- Good computer skills
- Ability to successfully work with others as part of a team to achieve established goals
- Effective Communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and within a team setting
- Outstanding attention to detail, organizational skills, valuing safety, and adhering to company policies

- Ability to stand for long periods of time while using a wide variety of heavy tools needed to fix aircraft parts.
- Ability to lift aircraft tools, parts, and equipment varying from 10lbs - to 70lbs or ability to use tools that can lift more when needed.
- The work environment consists of a large maintenance hangar that can become consistent with outside temperatures.
- Aircraft maintenance hangar may also experience loud noises consistently throughout the day.
- Ability to work in a confined area for an extended period of time.
- Ability to wear personal protective gear.
