About the RoleValidity is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer to join our QA team. In this role, you will report to the Engineering Manager and collaborate closely with both the Product and Engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing comprehensive test plans-including both manual and automated approaches-to ensure the delivery of high-quality, robust software.Team DynamicAt Validity, we foster a culture of individual accountability and team collaboration. You'll maintain, design, implement, and execute comprehensive test strategies to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of our foundational services and products. You'll work closely with developers, product managers, and DevOps to deliver high-quality solutions, while also crafting innovative approaches to solving complex problems. Position Duties and ResponsibilitiesCollaborate closely with developers, product managers, and DevOps to ensure quality is embedded throughout the development lifecycleUnderstand complex product requirements and participate in requirement reviews, planning sessions, and test case reviewsDesign, implement, and execute comprehensive manual, exploratory, and automated test strategies for APIs, microservices, backend components, and user interfacesDevelop and maintain automated test scripts using Cypress and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines to support fast and reliable deploymentsReview UI components for functionality, usability, and conformance to design standardsIdentify, isolate, document, and track bugs through resolution, and maintain high-quality documentation to support debugging and future enhancementsMonitor and analyze test results, investigate root causes of failures, and drive issues to closureParticipate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes and toolsAdvocate for quality across the engineering organization and help define and maintain quality metricsClearly communicate testing status, risks, and issues to relevant stakeholders Required Experience, Skills, and Education4+ years of experience in software quality assurance, including manual, automated, performance, and load testingDeep understanding of testing methodologies, QA best practices, and experience working within short and long release cyclesHands-on experience with automated testing frameworks and tools such as Cypress, Selenium, Playwright, Jest, Mocha, JUnitStrong experience testing RESTful APIs and microservices using tools like Postman or SwaggerFamiliarity with CI/CD tools and pipelines including GitHub Actions, CircleCI, and Jenkins; ability to troubleshoot and resolve build issuesExperience working in Agile/Scrum development environments, collaborating with product and development teams to define QA parameters and priorities Preferred Experience, Skills, and EducationBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experienceFamiliarity with tiered web application architectures and relational databasesProficiency in at least one programming language, such as Python, Java, or JavaScriptExperience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCPExposure to performance and load testing tools such as JMeter, Gatling, or K6Familiarity with SalesforceExperience testing desktop applications built with Electron About ValidityFor over 20 years, tens of thousands of organizations across the world have relied on Validity solutions to target, contact, engage, and retain customers - using trustworthy data as a key advantage.
