Globe Machine Manufacturing
Since 1917, Globe Machine has been a manufacturer of industrial machines, systems, and plants for advanced composites, building products, and pulp & paper.
If you're mechanically inclined, passionate about robotics and automation, and eager to work hands-on with some of the most advanced FANUC and other robotics systems in the industry, this is the opportunity for you. You'll join a team of innovators and problem-solvers, programming, assembling, and maintaining robots that power the future of manufacturing.
This position is based in Tacoma, WA, and offers hands-on exposure to FANUC robot integration, PLC programming, and the full project lifecycle-from assembly to field commissioning.
What You'll Do
Program and integrate FANUC and other robots and PLCs for custom automation systems.
Assemble robotic components, subassemblies, and systems per mechanical and electrical schematics.
Support end-to-end machine builds, from shop floor assembly through customer on-site field commissioning.
Interpret and follow technical drawings, electrical schematics, and assembly documentation.
Collaborate with Controls Engineers and Project Managers to test and install fully integrated systems.
Participate in on-site installation, system startup, and customer training.
Troubleshoot and repair robotic systems and automation equipment in the field.
Contribute to the development of installation plans, documentation, and system sequencing.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in line with Globe standards.
Other duties as assigned.
What Makes You a Great Fit
Two-year technical degree or equivalent experience
Experience with FANUC robot programming, troubleshooting, or maintenance strongly desired
Proficiency with PLC programming and other machine control systems
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics
Mechanical assembly or automation equipment experience is a strong plus
Excellent problem-solving skills and a desire to learn in a dynamic, hands-on environment
Valid driver's license, and ability to obtain a U.S. passport and TWIC card
All employees of Globe MUST be able to pass a drug test and background check. Our industry is "safety sensitive" and we do require a negative cannabis drug screen as well.
