Position Summary
Odyssey Systems has an exciting opportunity for a
Senior Systems Analyst
to support information systems modernization and enterprise network operations at
Lackland Air Force Base, TX . This position requires deep experience in DoD network architecture, WAN technologies, and secure data transfer protocols. The selected candidate will work with cross-functional teams to assess business needs, plan solutions, and ensure mission-critical networks are robust, secure, and compliant with cybersecurity standards. Responsibilities
In this Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) role, you will provide expert-level systems analysis and network architecture support to Department of Defense (DoD) programs. You will assist government leadership by applying analytical processes to assess and improve information systems while ensuring network performance, security, and integration across geographically separated locations. This role is essential to enhancing warfighter capability through secure and optimized IT infrastructure planning, implementation, and operations. Duties include, but not limited to: Perform detailed systems and network analysis to identify opportunities for new or improved business and mission process solutions Build, troubleshoot, and maintain WAN interfaces across geographically separated locations using DISA, JIOR, and commercial circuits
Develop network architecture solutions that support data transfer, security, and operational readiness across internal and external networks
Monitor bandwidth and utilization across multiple circuits; proactively recommend and implement optimization strategies
Provide Tier 2 network support to local and remote site technicians
Collaborate with clients, carriers, and vendors to implement, manage, and optimize network solutions
Develop and maintain detailed and high-level network diagrams for cybersecurity, logistics, and system documentation
Ensure secure data transfer protocols are in place, including support for SSH, SSL/TLS, RSA, and anonymous communication technologies like TOR
Establish and operate network test environments and support network range activities
Conduct business process reengineering, feasibility studies, and trade-off analyses
Prepare business cases and cost estimates for IT/network solutions aligned with mission requirements
Ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity and documentation standards throughout all analysis and network support activities
Qualifications
Citizenship: Must be a US citizen Minimum Required Qualifications
Clearance:
Top Secret Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field Years of Experience:
15 years of directly related experience, including 5 years supporting DoD programs Preferred Qualifications
Deep familiarity with DISA, JIOR, and other government WAN infrastructures
Demonstrated experience in network security, encryption, and cybersecurity compliance
Clearance:
Top Secret / SCI Education:
Master's degree in Systems Engineering or relevant discipline Years of Experience:
8-12 years supporting DoD acquisition programs Technical Skills Expert-level understanding of WAN technologies (MPLS, VPN, GRE)
Strong grasp of DoD cybersecurity policies and documentation practices
Network architecture design, testing, and implementation
Encryption and security technologies (SSH, SSL/TLS, RSA)
Familiarity with anonymous communication tools (e.g., TOR)
Business process modeling, systems integration, and IT solution planning
Interpersonal Skills Strong communication skills-both written and verbal
Ability to create polished technical documents, briefings, and white papers for senior leadership
Analytical and critical thinking skills to support high-tempo, mission-driven environments
Collaborative mindset for working with government, contractor, and vendor stakeholders
