Primary Responsibilities: Design, implement, operate, and maintain sophisticated information systems, encompassing physical facility infrastructure, virtual devices, and containerized technologies. Oversee high-level daily operational maintenance, support, and upgrades for intricate operating systems, workstations, and servers. Coordinate complex software installations and upgrades for operating systems and application layers, adhering to established IT protocols. Continuously monitor and optimize multiple systems to ensure peak performance. Safeguard workstation/server data integrity through strategic evaluation, implementation, and management of tailored software and hardware solutions. Ensure data/media recoverability by creating and executing a robust backup and database archiving schedule. Strategize and oversee modernization initiatives for server environments. Develop, implement, and promote standard operating procedures for operational excellence. Conduct thorough hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to maintain compliance with established standards and policies. Facilitate the design, documentation, and execution of system enhancements, ensuring comprehensive consideration of application software, cybersecurity, and operational use cases. Maximize system uptime and promptly address hardware and software failures. Quickly diagnose operational and performance issues, spearheading the implementation of resolutions. Demonstrate a strong understanding of user account management and access control protocols. Utilize Active Directory, LDAP, or similar directory services effectively. Possess familiarity with network security protocols and best practices. Have a grasp of basic networking concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP). Exhibit exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with multi-factor authentication (MFA) and password management tools is essential. Work independently while also collaborating effectively as part of a team. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree with 8+ years of experience or a Master's Degree with 6+ years of experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain at least a Secret security clearance. Active CompTIA Security+ CE certification is required. Experience with Linux RHEL & Debian, Windows, AWS, and Azure is essential. Proficiency in installing OS on bare metal and virtualized platforms using iso, pxe, and kickstart. Ability to create customized kickstarts and troubleshoot issues via CLI and log analysis. Experience in managing PC, server, laptop, and printer hardware effectively. Experience in maintaining and configuring LAN and WAN environments. Familiarity with Enterprise Virtualization (VMWare, Proxmox) is a must. Self-starter with the capacity to work autonomously while possessing strong communication skills. Experience with Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions. A solid understanding of regulatory frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, NIST) related to account management practices. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in conducting Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) for new technologies. Proficient in Windows 11, Windows Server 2019, 2022 and 2025, RHEL, Rocky, Ubuntu, Debian, Microsoft SQL Server, WSUS, Splunk, and STIGs. Experience with DNS/DHCP, IPAM (BlueCat), load balancers (F5), and Authentication Systems (Clearpass). Familiar with Cisco Layer 2 and 3 networking devices, including Cisco ISR routers and Cisco Catalyst switches. Skill in managing and configuring Dell iDRAC, VMWare ESXi, and VMWare VCenter. Knowledge of configuration using Python and Ansible is advantageous. Familiarity with implementing DOD STIGs is preferred. Experience with enterprise network management tools such as HPNA, SolarWinds, and Cisco Smartnet. Understanding of ITIL Change & Configuration Management practices. Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Linux+, RHCE, RHCSA) are desirable.
