Astroscale U.S. Inc. is seeking a
Software Platform Architect
to join the team in our Denver, Colorado office. As part of the Software Engineering team, you will design and implement infrastructure solutions to enable the development, testing and deployment of software across spacecraft flight and ground systems.
Job Description
Own the design, implementation, deployment and maintenance of the infrastructure that enables the development, testing and deployment of all software at Astroscale U.S.
Design and build cloud, on-prem and hybrid infrastructure solutions for development and satellite mission operations using virtual machine and container orchestration
Integrate virtual private clouds into common infrastructure like Single-Sign-On
Optimize infrastructure solutions for performance and cost
Assist with debugging issues in the deployment and runtime process of development and production workflows
Design and instrument logging solutions for auditing and issue resolution
Drive the improvement of software tooling and processes
Participate in design and development of hardware-in-the-loop systems
Embody a culture of innovation, technical excellence and continuous improvement
Qualifications
8 years of professional experience in platform engineering, DevOps or cloud architecture roles
Deep experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP), ideally more than one
Professional experience developing software in Python, C++, C, Java, Rust or other
Expertise with CI/CD tools and workflows including but not limited to Jenkins and GitHub Actions
Expertise with software build systems like CMake, Bazel and Conan
Experience with containerization and container orchestration frameworks like Kubernetes and related design patterns
Experience with infrastructure as code techniques and tools like Terraform
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Bachelor's degree, master’s degree or PhD in computer science, computer engineering or related field

Salary range:
$145,000-190,000. The salary range represents the low and high end of the Astroscale U.S. Inc. salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, knowledge, and ability as applicable to the role.
