Position Summary:

Under general direction, responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of assigned programming projects and provides a single point of contact for those projects. Ensures that technical and functional aspects of applications are operating correctly and available for all users.

Responsibilities

Takes programming projects from original concept through final implementation. Defines project scope and objectives and conducts project meetings. Develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports.

Interfaces with all areas affected by the project including end users, computer services, and client services. Provides analytical guidance to project team.

Ensures adherence to quality standards and reviews project deliverables.

Manages the integration of vendor tasks, reviews vendor deliverables and evaluates vendor proposals for purchases of hardware, software, and technical services to assure adherence to technical specifications.

Analyzes proposed and actual projects in terms of the feasibility of using information systems.

Prepares long- and short-range plans for application selection, software systems development, systems maintenance, production activities, and for necessary support resources.

Plans and recommends changes to the capacity of the operating system and its configuration.

Prepares cost estimates for current and proposed projects, reflecting the equipment.

Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results.

Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written.

Participates in the design, creation, and maintenance of computerized databases.

Responsible for program design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation.

Has full technical knowledge of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming.

Works with management to develop database strategies to support company needs.

Consults with and advises users on data access, conflicts, and usage.

Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications Minimum Education

BS in information systems, computer science or a related field or equivalent work experience in functional area with training/emphasis on programming.

Minimum Experience

Minimum of six (6) years of related work experience required; experience in healthcare environment preferred.

Has solid understanding for business or function for which application is designed.

Able to work under general direction.

Has IT project management experience.

Some experience working with AI analytics and data modeling with a background in python and other coding models preferred. Position will require some minor on-call rotational coverage and day shift coverage for help desk ticket responses for all of Covenant Health's data reporting needs.
