The Men's Sportswear Merchandising Assistant plays a crucial role in managing processes, implementing merchandising strategies, and providing vital analytical support to our merchandise team. You'll learn about the long-term business strategy and tactics utilized within merchandising. Key responsibilities include: Being a liaison between vendors and internal teams, resolving issues, and setting clear expectations. Generating financial reports and analyzing data to offer insights and recommendations aimed at exceeding sales and margin goals. Overseeing purchase order activities in alignment with merchandising plans for your assigned categories. Staying informed about merchandise trends and competitor offerings through various research methods. Monitoring inventory levels and ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of merchandise. Assisting in the vendor selection process by providing insights based on evaluations of prospective vendors. Analyzing slow-turn items and reviewing sales performance to suggest markdowns and price adjustments. Coordinating vendor meetings, product demonstrations, and promotional events. Maintaining a detailed assortment plan and recommending solutions for any identified issues. Overseeing coupon management and assisting with the advertising plan. Reviewing advertising and promotion effectiveness, summarizing outcomes, and presenting findings to team leaders. Carrying out additional duties as required. Requirements Bachelor's degree in business or a related field. 1-3 years of professional merchandising or retail operations experience. Strong analytical and organizational skills. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently in a fast-paced environment. This role is hybrid; employees will work in-office at BJ's Club Support Center in Marlborough, MA, on Tuesday through Thursday, and remotely on Monday and Friday. In accordance with Pay Transparency requirements, the compensation range for this position starts at $56,500. Actual salaries may vary based on location, education, experience, and qualifications.
