Ultrasound Technologist

Purpose of Position:

Ultrasound: Perform clinical sonographic services by locating, evaluating, and recording pertinent anatomical, pathological, and functional data using ultrasound equipment to aid a physician in diagnostic procedures.

Essential Functions:

Ultrasound

Perform ultrasound imaging and Doppler studies to include abdominal, pelvic, OB/GYN, transvaginal, vascular, breast, and small parts (thyroid, testicular) to obtain optimum images for diagnostic evaluations Note velocities, measure structures, and document adequate clinical history as needed for accurate interpretation by the Radiologist Perform other duties as assigned Personal Traits:

Credentials

Licensure, Certification, Etc.

ARDMS or equivalent, BLS

Physical Requirements:

• Use hands and arms to operate office or clinical equipment

• Sit more than half the workday

• Stand and/or walk less than half the workday

• Bend, stretch, twist, crouch and/or reach

• View electronic monitors for prolonged periods of time

• Use hands and arms for repetitive motion tasks

• Lift or carry unaided less than 25 pounds

• See and hear with normal acuity

Working Conditions:

• Work is conducted in a standard clinical environment to include exposure to latex, biohazard or other harmful substances
